Your Questions, Answered
Learn how MHAN operates, how funds are used, and how merchandise supports the mission.
The merchandise store was created after receiving countless requests from supporters asking for shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and other items as a way to honor Kaylee and show support for the foundation’s mission.
The store gives supporters a way to publicly support the mission while also helping generate funding that can be directed toward advancing the foundation’s work.
The amount varies by product because manufacturing, printing, fulfillment, shipping, and processing costs differ from item to item.
To keep merchandise affordable, we selected the lowest fundraising margin available through our fulfillment provider rather than increasing prices to maximize revenue.
As an example, our current best-selling item, the Kaylee Jade Day Hoodie, generated approximately $6.02 per hoodie for the foundation after fulfillment costs were deducted.
The merchandise store was created to give supporters a way to wear and share the mission, not as a primary source of fundraising.
Transparency is important to us. If you would like additional information about a specific product, we encourage you to contact us. We are happy to provide a detailed breakdown of the product’s costs and the amount retained by the foundation from that purchase, including exact figures down to the cent.
No.
No board member, volunteer, family member, or individual associated with Murder Has A Name receives personal profit from merchandise sales.
After production, fulfillment, shipping, and processing costs are deducted, any remaining proceeds are processed through the foundation’s established financial systems and retained by the organization to support its mission.
Merchandise revenue is not distributed to individuals and remains dedicated to the work of The Kaylee Goncalves Foundation.
No.
The merchandise store was created in response to repeated requests from supporters who wanted a way to wear and share the foundation’s mission.
To keep merchandise as affordable as possible, we selected the lowest fundraising margin available through our fulfillment provider rather than increasing prices to maximize revenue. Because products have different production and fulfillment costs, prices vary throughout the store.
After manufacturing, fulfillment, shipping, and processing costs are deducted, only a small amount from each purchase supports the foundation, often just a few dollars per item.
The purpose of the store is not to serve as a major fundraising source, but to give supporters a way to wear the mission and help spread awareness. Any proceeds generated simply help support the foundation’s work.
The primary purpose of the merchandise store is to provide supporters with items they have repeatedly requested. While merchandise sales do generate revenue for the foundation after applicable costs are deducted, the store was not created as a main or major fundraising initiative.
The amount contributed to the foundation varies by product and depends on manufacturing, fulfillment, shipping, and payment processing costs.
After these costs are deducted, the remaining proceeds support the mission of Murder Has A Name.
