Our Partnership with Sorenson Forensics

Through our partnership with Sorenson Forensics, we are expanding access to advanced DNA testing for complex and challenging cases.

Sorenson Forensics is an independent forensic DNA laboratory with extensive experience in degraded samples, mixture interpretation and previously tested evidence. Accredited since 2005, their lab has successfully completed more than 100,000 backlogged cases including homicides, sexual assaults and other violent offenses.

Their role in this partnership is to help ensure that DNA testing is performed using methods suited to the evidence and that the results are reliable and clearly communicated. In many cases, the science exists to get answers, but access to testing remains a barrier. Together, we can help move cases forward that may not have otherwise been possible.

Our Partnership with GEDmatch

GEDmatch is a free DNA platform that allows users to upload data from services such as AncestryDNA, 23andMe, MyHeritage, and FamilyTreeDNA, helping create one of the world’s largest third-party genetic databases with over 2.2 million profiles. The platform has contributed to hundreds of solved cold cases nationwide and is mentioned in 94% of solved FIGG cases with media coverage.

With over 45 genealogy research tools and compatibility across 20+ consumer DNA companies, GEDmatch helps users explore ethnicity composition, compare DNA matches across multiple testing platforms, and identify shared DNA segments with relatives and matches.

Users maintain full control over their privacy settings, including whether to opt-in for law enforcement matching. The upload process is simple, takes approximately 10 minutes, and access to basic tools is completely free.

In a beautiful tribute to Kaylee, Rivers Dahlias honored her legacy by naming one of their breathtaking dahlias “The Kaylee Jade.” Created through the support of members of the American Dahlia Society, this living tribute reflects Kaylee’s beauty, spirit, and the lasting impact she continues to have on so many lives.

The Kaylee Jade Dahlia will be admitted into the Dahlia Society, ensuring her name continues to bloom year after year. When sales opened in February through Rivers Dahlias, Heron’s Nest, and Kennedy Farm, the dahlia sold out within minutes, a powerful reflection of the love surrounding Kaylee’s memory.

A portion of the proceeds from each bloom supports the Kaylee Jade Foundation and our mission to help families find answers and bring justice to those still waiting.
